|It's clear that these countless coins recovered into the game economy could destabilize the trade of this MMO (for comparison, an average thing from the game costs a couple of tens, even OSRS Gold hundreds of bits, and a house of this purchase from a few thousand or tens of thousands of pieces to the most lavish ones). Much more problematic, the Old School RuneScape business version can also be partly dependent on the game market - that the optional subscription can be paid for with the sport money. These countless coins were more likely to destroy (literally) the real and virtual economy of the MMO.
Faced with the bug and its consequences, Jagex therefore preferred to disconnect the servers of their MMO in a hurry, to make a correction.
Alas, the shift was clearly more complicated than expected and not only the servers were closed several hours (it's a lesser evil), but the developer also needed to rollback the entire game - based to the programmer, players who became billionaires by chance had begun to devote their fortune and it wasn't feasible to monitor those expenses readily to cancel them. The players have lost these twenty five minutes of play (too terrible for those who got a rare item during the interval) and following the correct, some players may still have difficulties to connect - that the programmer is still walking from work to replenish these situations manually and when they appear.
And if the episode provokes many reactions on the MMO social networks, from Twitch into Reddit, history will recall that this is the first roll-back of this (very long) story of RuneScape.
